Web Services Forum

Thursday, July 31, 2008 9am - 1pm
National ICT Australia, 7 London Circuit, Canberra City

This free Forum is jointly offered by IHE Asia-Pacific, HL7 Australia, MSIA and HISA.   With the anticipation of the broad development and implementation of web services in Australia to achieve integration between health information systems in line with NEHTA guidelines, the challenge is:   How does the health information system industry build web services such that they will:

• interoperate with other health information systems
• be built and deployed with low implementation and support costs
• meet privacy requirements
• support efficient workflow for providers and increased safety for patients

Many vendors are grappling with these issues and this forum will explore these issues from many perspectives. This Workshop will provide an opportunity for discussion of specific WSDL specifications provided by industry and facilitate a frank and open round table discussion of these challenges.  It is intended this forum will increase the understanding of industry with regard to the challenges, and inform the process of considering appropriate profiles for development and implementation of interoperable web services.  Please bring your examples of WSDL specifications for the discussion with the forum participants.

For further details please contact the facilitator, Mark Angove, on +61 400 344 322. Venue: National ICT Australia, Tower A, 7 London Circuit, Canberra
